I live in a country whose culture and codes differ
greatly from those I learned growing up in the U.S. Whereas I
believe that one can never completely dissolve these fundamental
differences; it's funny how certain experiences make you realize
that somewhere along the way the roots will tend to entangle themselves.
Things become familiar and you find yourself becoming a part of
a second culture. You make up funny combinations of words, your
thought patterns resemble those of others around you, your temperament
learns a new vocabulary and you are introduced to a part of yourself
that may or may not have already existed. Surprise. You're not
a foreigner and you're not a native And yet you are both.
Then a greater surprise arises when you find your
music becoming an unpredictable blend of all these elements.
This blend is the essence of Lit'l Song.

I consider myself fortunate that this music chose
me as its voice.
Instruments that I had never heard together were
to join, forming a warm emotional layering of sound and soul.
We all originate from the same source and share
the same simple truths; the pipes and cello both mourn, oud and
sax psalm, bass and tabla dance, piano and guitar reminisce and
voices cry out. All are present in all. All are one.
For us...it was just a matter of Wandering Home.
